HOLY CURSE-WORD-I-CAN'T-SAY-FOR-PG-REASONS, GUYS.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE EPISODES OF ANYTHING EVER OF ALL TIME. IT WIPES THE FLOOR WITH SO MUCH I RAISE A HEARTY FLIP-OFF TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE THIS SHOW. They know nothing.
This episode was soooo perfect! For one of the grimmest and hardest to watch shows in the possible EVER, it had a sorta-kinda happy ending! Everyone in the world turned into a Dumbshow, a Freak, a Butcher, all those, became who they used to be again....except for the ones we don't want that to happen to: Echo, Sierra/Pryia, and Victor/Tony. Echo got to stay her fantabulicious self, and Pryia and Tony rekindled after a fall-out over the latter leaving to protect his family: now he can stay with his son.
Things aren't, of course, all sun-shiny though. Topher died. You read that right, Topher died. One of the most lovable very very morablly grey characters of all time DIED! I am ensaddened by this, but at least he went out with a beautiful bang. Which can't be said for Paul, however, as he was shot in the head and left for dead...ish. True he kinda came back and is a part of Echo now (who isn't?), but it was still sad to see the real him die yet again.
It's left ambiguous on a lot of things, but I find that perfect as well. We will never know what happened to Alpha or Whiskey, and who knows if the world will actually be saved from its now catastrophic state. Unlikely, considering this is a semi-realistic show, but we had a happy-ish ending for now.
Shall I go now?
I don't want you to, Dollhouse, but if you really do, you will in the best way possible. Goodbye, Echo, Pryia, Tony, Topher, Adelle, Paul, Alpha, Mag, and all those others...you were your best.
